Rough Cut Nation exhibition of urban art and graffiti

26-08-2009
The EH-3D Design studio members visited the Portrait Gallery in Queen St, Edinburgh.

The EH-3D team visited the exhibition "Rough Cut Nation" which shows some very interesting and amazing urban art/ graffiti paintings showing aspects of Scottish culture and the origins of urban life vs. the reality of city living. The paintings were a mixture of graffiti and photography blended into urban landscapes.  A great deal of collage and spray paint was implemented together with interactive visual art and music/ urban sounds.

Personally I think it was a smashing exhibition with a series of portraits of the real urban dwellers embraced with strange mythical backgrounds.

The gestures and faces of the individuals were very realistic and perfectly performed.

The team really enjoyed the exhibition and truly recommends it! It’s on until the 30th of August 2009.
